Every Man a Tiger

Robert "Bob" McCoy

Mar 14, 1937 - Jul 4, 2017

Retired Senior Master Sergeant Robert "Bob" McCoy, 80, passed away at home with his family in Atwater, CA on July 4, 2017. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served an exemplary career in the U.S. Air Force, specializing in aircraft electrical systems, from 1955 to 1985.

After military retirement, Bob continued to keep busy, working as an office machine technician, tackling home improvement projects and, periodically, volunteering at the Castle Air Museum. He took great pride in assisting with the restoration and maintenance of the aircraft exhibits at the museum.

At the time of his death, Bob had been married to his wife Odette (nee Bouchet) for 53 years. He is survived by her and their daughter, Betina. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin and Herschell. He will also be greatly missed by his extended family, which includes many half-siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews, and in-laws, as well as his close-knit family friends.

At Bob's request, he will be cremated and no service will be held. The family is grateful for condolences but declines flowers; instead, please make donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation or the Castle Air Museum.
